Golden Apple Pie Syrup





Apple Pie Syrup

Tired of paying high dollar for a Apple Pie Latte or Apple Pie Coffee at Dunkin Donuts?  "Golden Apple Pie Syrup" can be use to flavor coffee, cocktails or Sangria's and top: ice cream, pancakes, waffles, and desserts. Plus it's absolutely delicious and easy to make!


Ingredients

2 oz. Apple Extract
1 (16.5 oz.) Torani Caramel Sauce
1/3 cup Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup
1 teaspoon allspice; powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon; powder
1 teaspoons nutmeg; powder


Directions

In a large measuring cup add all the ingredients.

Mix until all the ingredients are blended.

Pour the mixture back into the bottle and it is ready to use.

Apple, Pear and Golden Raisin Slaw


This Apple, Pear and Golden Raisin Slaw recipe tantalizes the taste buds with a burst of fruitiness.  An perfect side-dish to chicken, turkey and pork dishes. 


Ingredients

1/4 cup golden raisins
1 large apple
1 large pear
12 ounce bag coleslaw salad mix
1/4 apple cider vinegar
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

In small bowl, whisk vinegar, brown sugar, poppy seeds, salt, and pepper.

Combine apple, raisins, with pear and coleslaw.

Drizzle vinaigrette over apple mixture and toss.

Chill up to 2 hours.

Apple-n-Spice Brine


"Apple-n-Spice Brine" gives a hint of sweetness from the apple cider and the combination of herbs and spices results in a juicy, delicious, and very flavorful poultry. Can also be used for pork, fish and seafood.


Ingredients

1/2 gallon of cold water
2 cups sea salt
3 cups orange juice
1 gallon Johnny Appleseed Apple Cider
10 whole cloves
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup light brown sugar

Directions

In a large pot combine apple cider, orange juice, sea salt, spices, and sugar over a medium heat.

Simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow brine to cool.

Add cold water.


Pour brine over the top of the turkey, cover the pot or the seal bag, and refrigerate 6 - 24 hours.





Apple Ale Brine



This brine is sure to enhance the flavor of your poultry if you are planning on smoking it. This is a twist of the traditional beer brine for large amounts of fish, chicken, quail, or turkey.


Ingredients

1/2 gallon of cold water
1/2 cup sea salt
6 bottles Redds Apple Ale Beer
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup pickling spice
1.2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions

In a large pot combine beer, sea salt, spices, and sugar over a medium heat.

Simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow brine to cool.

Add cold water.


Pour brine over the top of the turkey, cover the pot or the seal bag, and refrigerate 6 - 24 hours.

Apple Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes

Deliciously spiced sweet potatoes are grilled with apples for a perfect mouth watering blend. Grill and Oven directions.


Ingredients

2 large sweet potatoes, sliced and diced
1 apple - peeled, cored and thinly sliced and diced
Ground cinnamon to taste
Brown sugar to taste or Splenda
1/2 cup butter


Directions

Grill

Preheat an outdoor grill medium heat. 


In a bowl, toss the sweet potato and apple slices and dice with the cinnamon and sugar.

Divide the mixture into 4 portions, places each on a large piece of aluminum foil.

Top each with an equal amount of butter.

Tightly seal foil around each portion.

Place foil packets on the grill, and cook 40 minutes.

Turning every 5 to 10 minutes, until potatoes and apples are tender.

Oven

Preheat an oven 350 degrees F. 


In a bowl, toss the sweet potato and apple slices and dice with the cinnamon and sugar.

Divide the mixture into 4 portions, places each on a large piece of aluminum foil.

Top each with an equal amount of butter.

Tightly seal foil around each portion.

Place foil packets on the grill, and cook 40-50 minutes.

Bake until potatoes and apples are tender.

Cranberry Apple Relish



This Cranberry Apple Relish recipe is not only easy to make it is just down-right delicious especially with the addition of apples.


Ingredients

2 (12 oz.) bags of cranberries (rinsed)
1 apple, peeled, cored, and finely diced
1 Tablespoon grated naval orange peel
1 cup orange juice
3 cups white 

Directions

First grate the peel of the orange.

In a stock pot add sugar and orange juice and bring to a boil.

Stir often, when the sugar has melted reduce the heat to a gentle boil.

Add cranberries and apples simmer for about 16 minutes or until cranberries pop. 

Add grated naval orange peel simmer 8 minutes.

Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

Top with walnuts and a parsley leaf, serve.


Cranberry Apple Cider Jelly



Cranberry Apple Cider Jelly is very tasty. The apple cider adds a little pizzazz to a traditionally easy recipe. 


Ingredients

4 cups cranberries
1 cup apple cider
1 ½ cups white sugar

Directions

Remove bad berries and wash with cold water.

Place the berries in a medium sauce pan and add apple cider.

Bring to a boil and simmer until the cranberries burst.

Add sugar and cook 8-10 minutes.

Pour into a small bowl or jar.

Chill for 2-4 hours.

Serve.
